THE PALATINE BIKE PLAN

~APPROVED ON MONDAY, JULY 18, 2011 AT THE

PALATINE COUNCIL MEETING!~

The Village has now APPROVED and ADOPTED Comprehensive Bike Plan in its Comprehensive Plan to provide further impetus for incorporating biking in all future road projects under the transportation needs. Task force members signed a declaration at the October meeting, signifying their desire to have bicycling addressed in the plan as an important mode of transportation. CONGRATS!!!

A big THANK YOU to Director of Community Services (and task force member) Harry Spila who gave a fantastic presentation at the Council Meeting on Monday, July 18, 2011. Also THANK YOU to Wayne Mikes and Gail Artrip for their invaluable input to the Steering Committee. The village retained the services of the League of Illinois Bicyclists's Ed Barsotti and Spaceco to develop our comprehensive bike plan. This document will guide the village's bike facility development for at least the next 10 years.
