MINUTES FROM OUR LAST MEETING:


  • We are discussing possibly using some of the money we’ve made from our CycleFest events to purchase a few bike racks for installation at various public locations in the village.

  • Harper College has asked us to host a booth at their Earth Week event next April. More to come as this date grows closer.

  • Palatine Park District is hosting a Healthy Living Expo and 5k run on March 24th. They’ve asked us to consider hosting a bike ride as part of the event.

  • The Village of Palatine has proposed an annual budget of $7,500 for each of the next five years, beginning with 2012, to begin implementation of the bike plan. This would mostly consist of signage and striping for on-road designated routes.

  • We are thinking about ordering refrigerator magnets that advertise next year’s CycleFest. These would be distributed along the parade path during next years 4th of July parade. Just preliminarily checking on pricing at this time.

  • Potential improvements for next year’s CycleFest were offered. These include: more PR (Farmer’s Market, mailing, website, signs/posters); print more cue sheets, get a few group photos, request donated goodie bag items earlier, maybe obtain wristbands to make participating riders more identifiable, expand the registration area to include a second table for route/map display and t-shirt sales. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
